Reading grant to assist CPS tutoring efforts

Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, along with CPS Superintendent Mary Ronan and The Strive Partnership's Greg Landsman, announced Wednesday that Cincinnati is among eight cities that won a $40,000 grant from Target to help raise third-grade reading levels. The money will recruit and train 50 tutors to work with 100 students at Roberts Paideia Academy and four other Cincinnati Public schools where significant numbers of students struggle with reading: Rockdale Academy in Avondale, Mount Airy School, Pleasant Hill Academy in College Hill and Pleasant Ridge Montessori School.
