Covington Partners Graduate Cincinnati Children's RCIC
Since the end of July, Covington Partners has been participating in the Rapid Cycle Improvement Collaborative (RCIC) with Children’s Hospital Medical Center. RCIC, an improvement science educational program, aims to develop skills in its participants by using basic quality improvement tools. Sessions, held at The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, included instruction, application examples and time allocated to work on the team's specific program.
The Covington Partners collaborative group chose to focus on increasing the percentage of mentored students at Holmes Middle School and Holmes High School who have perfect weekly attendace.
"RCIC allowed our team to dive into attendance for our mentored students and really try some new tactics to get our students to come to school more regularly," said Renee Mains, Mentoring Outreach Coordinator. "We also learned to stop and think about the root of the attendance issue and not jump straight to our assumptions or to interventions."
Angie Okuda, Strive Partnership's Design and Data Infrastructure Specialist, served as the coach for the collaborative--providing insights and support along the way.
On Novemeber 5, Covington Partners graduated from RCIC. In the future, StrivePartnership plans to continue supporting the efforts of partners in recieving improvement science training.
